This tour is for our guests who would like to stay in some of Switzerlands famous more luxurious hotels. The hotels we choose for this trip have exellent cuisine, with facilities in the hotel including beauty and wellness centres. Steam baths, saunas and hot tubs will be available for guests returning from strenuous hikes at the end of the day.
Guests can stay in 2 different hotels for as many nights as they please. We will advise the best hikng in each area from the hotels in the form of day hikes. This will vary from challenging 6 to 8 hour hikes or moderate 2 to 4 hour hikes. See fitness requirements. Alternatively, for our less active guests, we will recommend day trips by public transport in and around the mountains of each area, and day trips futher down the valleys to larger towns.
The hiking and public transport recommendations will take guests to the most scenic and spectacular views in each area. We have personally hiked and have been to all of the destinations in our itineraries.
From each hotel various mountain transport in the form of a cable car (gondola), funicular, cog train, or bus, will take guests to other small villages where optional hiking will be avaialable to explore the local terrain. We will recommend hikes variying in length, and recommend sights to visit for our less energetic guests. Some of our optional hikes will wander through quieter paths away from busy areas, taking guests along beside mountain streams to beautiful waterfalls and lakes.
Guests will recieve a detailed itinerary and topographical map. We will also advise on travel passes to the area, and in the area. These can vary alot depending on ones itineray regarding hiking, and how much guests would like to ride public transport. Most passes are only valid 50% or 25% higher up the mountain. So our advice concerning which pass to buy can be important.
Baggage will be transferred between hotels. By spending more days in one hotel, and being situated in a village in the valley, baggage transport is made easier.
Costs for this trip will include all gourmet dinners and breakfasts. Lunches can be bought en route or sandwiches can be carried. Most dietary needs will be accommodated by the hotels with sufficient notice.
